Marquette, MI – September 21, 2019 – The predicted rain and gale force winds held off to make it a beautiful afternoon at the mediaBrew Communications Studios as we raised funds to help Kevin Koepp of Pomp’s Tire Marquette.
On June 17th 2019, Kevin was brought to UP Health Systems with chest pains. Doctors determined he had several heart attacks and would need triple bypass surgery. Unfortunately Kevin was allergic to the drug that they used to thin his blood. The reaction created blood clots which caused two of the bypasses to fail and left his heart functioning at a 10th of what it should.
Today supporters from all around the Upper Peninsula and beyond joined us at the studios to help give to Kevin’s cause including a large number of Koepp family members. With hundreds of items donated by businesses and community members we set up a silent auction and bucket raffles, plus a 50/50 drawing with all of the money raised going to Kevin.
During the silent auction alone we raised over $6,000 with another $1,267 going to Kevin from the 50/50 raffle won by Chastity Koepp. With thousands still to be counted from community member donations, the money from the Super One Food’s of Marquette cookout and more, we believe to have reached well over our $10,000 goal!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for today’s event and helped make this fundraiser possible. Special thanks to Superior Entertainment Center for donating their bar room and tables and helping us lubricate the guests and thank you to Super One Foods of Marquette for helping feed the guests!
