Marquette, MI – February 6, 2019 – If you haven’t taken a trip to Marquette’s local gaming club lately, you may not know of the major transformation going on at Ojibwa Casino. Today marked a milestone for Ojibwa Casino of Marquette as they laid the final beam on the exterior of the new addition.

This afternoon we gathered at Ojibwa Casino of Marquette to witness the Topping Out Ceremony, a tradition in the construction trade. Casino officials and construction crew members signed the final beam before lifting it into place at the top of what will be the new porte cochere grand entrance. Now that the exterior shell is complete, the construction crew can work indoors for the rest of this cold, snowy season! By the time the addition is complete, Ojibwa Casino of Marquette will have more than doubled the size of the original gaming floor. There will also be two brand new restaurants in the building and the Ojibwa Casino Concert Hall at the far end of the facility. The casino will also be fitted with a new Guest Services VIP room and many more gaming options.

All kinds of good things are coming with this new casino. It’s a total re-imagining of Ojibwa Casino’s brand in Marquette. Jim Orr, Director of Marketing for Ojibwa Casinos Baraga & Marquette

The establishment of the new casino is on track to be complete by the end of December 2019 or January of 2020. Stay tuned for more information on a grand opening for the new facility. The current casino floor is still open despite construction at this time, but visit the Ojibwa Casino website or Facebook Page for regular updates.
